hannes bieger made his name behind the desk before he made it in front of one. he spent about eleven years on mixing and mastering work out of berlin, which is still where he lives and works.

the turn came in 2017. a moog modular bought the year before pulled him back toward writing his own material, and his debut ep landed on poker flat that same year. bedrock, flying circus, hommage and awesome soundwave, the label carl cox runs with christopher coe, all followed.

in 2024 he set up Elektrons as an outlet of his own. it opened with Black Hole on 29 march 2024.

not all of the writing happens in the studio. the Playa Perdida EP for bedrock started somewhere else entirely.

I actually wrote my latest Bedrock EP, Playa Perdida, on a deserted volcanic beach in Bali.
